Straight On—The Story
Straight On began as the vision of powerhouse vocalist Monique Bennett, whose passion for Heart’s music inspired her to build a tribute band that could authentically capture the sound, spirit, and energy of the Rock & Roll Hall of Famers. After searching for the right musicians, her journey took a major turn in 2006 when guitarist Kevin Bennett answered her flyer in a local music store. Their musical chemistry was instant — the classic bond between lead vocalist and lead guitarist formed the foundation of what Straight On would eventually become.
Though the duo spent years performing together in various classic rock cover bands — including roles in a local Pink Floyd tribute and time spent writing original music — the dream of creating a true Heart tribute band never faded. Life briefly sent Monique and Kevin in different directions, but the vision remained.
Reuniting the Dream
In 2012, Monique revived her mission to form a Heart tribute band. After months of searching, she and Kevin reunited to continue building the project. Straight On needed a musician capable of taking on the demanding role of Nancy Wilson — someone with both vocal strength and guitar skill. Lori Davis stepped forward, completing the core of the band with two talented women leading the front line.
With the addition of Scott Summers (keys, guitar, vocals), Jerry Olinger (bass), and Drew Sodee (drums), Straight On officially came to life.
Evolution of the Lineup
Recent Chapter
In late 2025, longtime bassist Jerry Olinger took a hiatus. Stepping in was Brian Briggs, a trusted friend from Monique and Kevin’s work in the Trans‑Siberian Orchestra tribute band First Snow. Brian has delivered outstanding performances while Jerry has been away, and the band extends deep gratitude for his dedication and musicianship.
Carrying the Spirit of Heart
Since 2012, Straight On has faithfully brought the music, magic, and spirit of Heart to audiences across the region. With powerful vocals, authentic musicianship, and a deep respect for Heart’s legacy, the band continues to deliver an unforgettable tribute experience.
As the band grew, so did its lineup:

2013: Scott Summers departed; Greg Petrusky joined on keys.

Winter 2015: Lori Davis and Greg Petrusky retired; Patrick Greishammer (keys, guitar, vocals) and Sarah D. (vocals, keys, guitar) stepped in, with Sarah taking on the Nancy Wilson role.

2016: Sarah moved on; Karen Bright joined, bringing exceptional talent and presence to the Nancy position.

2017–2018: Patrick departed; Ron Abrahamsen joined on keys, completing the next era of Straight On.
