The Straight On Story....
Straight On is the dream child of the talented vocalist Monique Bennett (Lead Vocals). She has spent years persistently & patiently searching for the right musicians to successfully recreate the music of the Rock & Roll Hall of Famers “Heart”. In 2006, a talented guitarist Kevin Bennett (Lead Guitar & Vocals) answered Monique’s flyer in a local music store looking to form a “Heart Tribute Band”. The classic musical bond of lead vocalist & lead guitarist was immediately formed, but it proved to be a difficult challenge to find the right mix of people for the project. Over the years they continued to work together in several different classic rock cover bands, including their roles in a local area Pink Floyd tribute band as well as writing their own music, but they always had the long term goal to perform together in a Heart tribute band. Eventually, circumstances forced the duo to go separate ways for a short period of time.
Fast forward to 2012: It was still Monique’s dream to form a Heart tribute band & after several months searching for the right mix of musicians, Kevin & Monique were re-united once again to continue the project. Straight On needed someone to do the challenging role of Nancy Wilson which requires a woman with a great voice & skill on guitar. Lori Davis answered the call & the nucleus of the band, fronted with two talented women, was formed. Add in three more incredibly talented musicians, Scott Summers (keys, guitar & vocals), Jerry Olinger (bass) & Drew Sodee (drums) and Straight On was finally formed.
In 2013, Scott left Straight On & in jumped Greg Petrusky to fill the position. In the winter of 2015, Lori Davis & Greg Petrusky retired from Straight On & the band introduced 2 new talented musicians to the line-up, Patrick Greishammer (Keys, Guitar & Vocals) & Sarah D. (Vocals, Keys & Guitar) taking on the role of Nancy. Sarah parted from Straight On in 2016 & in stepped the lovely & incredibly talented Karen Bright into the Nancy position. Patrick departed from Straight On in the fall of 2017, Ron Abrahamsen then came on board on keys in early 2018.
Straight On has been faithfully bringing the music
& spirit of Heart to fans since 2012!
